OTTOLINGER
The Swiss fashion label Ottolinger, a collaboration between Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient, began with its FW16 womenswear collection. Burning, fraying, patching, and stitching are just some of the ways in which Ottolinger treats materials -roughly, sometimes destructively- which makes each garment more personal. This is couture, but treated differently. It is designed with the body in mind, but relates to the body in unexpected ways. Ottolinger is one of the most exciting emerging labels finding inspiration in the misfit -in culture in general, in fashion in particular, in terms of how clothing can be made and how it can fit. Corista Bösch and Cosima Gadient met at the Basel School of Design, where they both studied fashion design.
